Alfred Stovall, M.D.

DR. ALFRED STOVALL, age 81, passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2018, at his son's home in Roanoke, Indiana.  Born August 13, 1936, in Birmingham, Alabama, he was the son of the late Franz Stovall and Arrie Jones Stovall.

Alfred went to high school in Fort Wayne, and graduated from Fisk University and Howard Medical School. He married Ernestine Dees and started a family. After serving his country in the military, he had a family practice in Fort Wayne for many years.

He is survived by two sons, Dr. Andre' (Maxine) Stovall of Roanoke, Indiana and Alfred (Susan) Stovall Jr. of Angola, Indiana; one daughter, Dina Stovall (Arnold) Spain of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; one foster sister, Wanell Hill; two grandchildren, Alfred Stovall III and Lauren Spain; two step grandchildren, Arnold E.J. Spain and Chanika Spain and a few cousins.

Alfred was also preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Ernestine (Dees) Stovall and one son, Vincent Stovall.

Memorial service is 11 a.m. Saturday, March 3, 2018, at Pilgrim Baptist Church,1331 Gay Street, where the family will receive friends immediately following the service in the fellowship hall.
