Arlene L. (Stafford) Shepherd

Arlene Lydia (Stafford) Shepherd was born on August 2, 1943 in Sault Ste Marie, Michigan.  She departed this earthly life on Friday, February 2, 2018 at Lutheran Hospital.

In 1961, she graduated from Hart High School in Hart, Michigan.  In 1962, she moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana where she lived with her brother, Clarence "Chuck. 

As fate would have it, she met and married Sam Shepherd and they were blessed with four beautiful children.

Later she gained employment with Foamex dedicating many years of service until retiring in 2001. 

Arlene was  quiet and simple, yet a  loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.  She enjoyed and appreciated the simple things of life and instilled it in her family...."Enjoy life and family."

Surviving are her children, Mark (Sharlene) Shepherd, Sam (Tameshia) Shepherd Jr., Napoleon (Stephaine) Shepherd and Tiffany Shepherd (Cedric Smith) all of Fort Wayne; siblings, Irene "Carolyn" Thiele, Raymond, Samuel and Thomas Stafford, May Belle Brooks and Evelyn Blonbeau; 12 grandchildren, six great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.

Arlene was preceded in death by the love of her life, husband, Sam Shepherd Sr.;  parents, Thomas William and May Stafford; brothers, Clarence and Charles Stafford and a sister, Pauline Marie Moll.
