She attended Greater Progressive Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Anthony R. Pettus until her health began to fail.

She attended Central High School and this year she became a member of the Class of 1954.  Beatrice received her certification from Stovall Beauty College. She was formerly employed by General Electric and retired from Fort Wayne State Hospital in 1996 after 29 years of service.
