Obituary

Carolyn Electa Maxwell was born in Columbia, Missouri on July 20, 1944 to the union of Ozia Benard and Electa Bess (Jones) Maxwell.

In 1961 she moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana and in 1962 graduated from Central High School.  Carolyn worked for Magnavox Government and Industrial Electronics Company for many years.

She enjoyed going to concerts and taking care of her family.

Carolyn departed this life on July 24, 2016 at home, but her memories will live on in the hearts and minds of her sons, James L. and Darius (Monica) Maxwell; sisters, Velma Ann and Anita Denise Maxwell; brothers, Toney (Evelyn) Sr., and Roland Maxwell; an aunt, Lou Francis Maxwell; a granddaughter, Ashley Maxwell; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ozia and Electa Maxwell.

I’m Free

Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free. 

I’m following the path God has laid you see.
I took His hand when I heard him call, I turned my back and left it all.

I could not stay another day to laugh, to love, to work, to play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way, I found that peace at the close of day.

If my parting has left a void, then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss, Oh yes, these things I too will miss.

Be not burdened with times of sorrow, I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life’s been full, I savored much.  Good friends, good times, a loved one’s touch.

Perhaps my time seemed all too brief, don’t lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your hearts and peace to thee
God wanted me now; He set me free.
