Dorothy Mae (Carlisle) Rencher was born August 6, 1947 in Marion, Alabama to the late David Carlisle Sr. and Lula Mae (Hatch) Carlisle.

She transitioned peacefully to eternal life on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana. 

Dorothy’s health took a toll on her when she was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer in 2015. She fought this battle with her family right by her side.

Dorothy “Dot” accepted Christ at an early age and in 1963 she moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana where she graduated from Central High School and later joined Greater Progressive Baptist Church.

She enjoyed playing BINGO, taking trips with her friend, Vicki, shopping, listening to music, dancing and watching the soaps. She had a special love for her entire family, yet loved her children and grandchildren dearly.

She was preceded in death by her father, David Carlisle Sr. and two brothers, David Jr. “June” and Edward Carlisle.

Dorothy “Dot” leaves cherished memories with her daughter, Pamela (Franklin) Jones of Fort Wayne; three sons, Terry “TJ” Rencher, Eric (Jamie) Rencher and Otis (Shatoya) Rencher all of Fort Wayne; her mother, Lula Carlisle of Fort Wayne; three brothers, Willis James Carlisle, Napoleon Kinney and Tim Kinney all of Fort Wayne, along with seven grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
