Donald Victor Salter departed this life on Saturday, October 28, 2017. He was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on July 13, 1953 to the late Donald Harold and Betty Jean Salter. He was born the youngest of his three siblings.
He graduated from South Side High School in 1971, and attended Indiana University shortly after. Donald pledged a became a member of the Alpha chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity. Donald moved to California in 1983 to seek out better opportunity.
Donald gave his heart to the Lord in 1991. After receiving Christ, Donald was a faithful member of Vine Life Christian Fellowship while living in Riverside California, where he served under the leadership of Pastor Robert Wilkes. Donald worked for the San Bernardino County for a number of years. Donald was also a faithful member of Come As You Are Community Church until the day he departed, where he served under the leadership of Pastor Anthony Payton.
He is survived by his children, Damion Chapman (Johanna) and Montoya Irby both of Fort Wayne, Maya Hendler of Los Angeles, California, Damion Rogers of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Donald Michael Salter of West Covina, California and a host of grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Donald was preceded in death by Donald H. Salter, Betty J. Salter, Greta Salter-Stamps, and Michael Salter.
His life will forever be cherished in the hearts and minds of his friends, family and loved ones.
