Obituary

Mother Easter Mae Washington was born on December 21, 1931 in Sledge, Mississippi to William and Emma Simms. She departed this life on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 in Muncie, Indiana surrounded by her family and  friends.

She married Walt Washington on August 29, 1952 in Rosedale, Mississippi;  with the Rev JD Stroggins officiating.  After moving to Fort Wayne, Indiana she gained employment with many of the following business of the years, Holiday Inn, Days Inn, Knights Inn and Charkey's Restaurant.

Mother Washington was a member of Greater Christ Temple Apostolic Church where she served in many areas of the church.

Her parents preceded her in death as did her husband, Walt Washington and her brother, Tommie Simms.

Mother Washington is survived by her sister, Emma Johnson and a host of nephews and nieces throughout the country; she is also survived by her Godson, Aaron Lake, Muncie, his wife, Jeannine and their children, Charles, Layton, Nahson and Constance, as well as numerous family and friends who considered her their grandmother.
