Margaret Joanetta Parham was born May 26, 1935 in Eutaw, Alabama. She was the youngest of four daughters born to Jerry and Rosa Bell (Mack) Jones.
She was baptized at an early age and graduated from Carver High School before leaving Alabama.
In 1953 she married Charles Parham and to this union three children were born. Although they later went their separate ways, they continued to be the best of friends.
In 1954, she moved to Chicago, Illinois and united with New Friendship Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Pastor Stroy Freeman where she was a member of the choir.
In 1983, she relocated to Fort Wayne, Indiana and opened Margaret’s Place Alterations and Wedding Shop. She had a God given talent to design and make clothing.
Her spiritual road would land her at Calvary Chapel (later renamed Lighthouse Deliverance Cathedral). Later she united with Union Baptist Church under the former leadership of Rev. Sylvester Hunter. Upon his organization and birth of Uniquely Blessed Christian Ministry, she became a church partner and was instrumental in the care of the church and a youth ministry volunteer.
During her free time she was a league bowler, bowling on several leagues and setting numerous records across the country.
When God whispered her name on Thursday, December 1, 2016, she peacefully passed away at St. Joseph Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Kenneth Parham; grandson, Lawrence Scott; two sisters, Willie Dell Ross and Betty Jones and a brother-in-law, Jerry Byrd.
Left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Linda (Artemus) Calhoun and Alfrieda Parham; sister, Catherine Byrd; grandson, Anthony (Brea) Wilson; five great-grandchildren, Taya, Malik, Caden, Zoë and Xavier along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
