Robert Lee Pullum was born on June 13, 1917 in Parkins, Arkansas. He was the son of Leroy and Leona Pullum. At the age of 101 he passed away on August 29, 2018 at Parkview Hospital.
In 1943, he enlisted in the United States Army-Air Force serving during World War II. He received his honorable discharged on March 12, 1946.
He later relocated to Fort Wayne, Indiana from Detroit, Michigan. Upon his arrival he attended Pilgrim Baptist Church with his mother.
He began employment with General Electric Company, where he remained until he retired in 1982. His hobbies included hunting and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mary Alice Pullum; two sons, Fredrick E. Pullum and William “Billy” Rutledge; brothers, John Chandler, Sam Chandler and Crottray Chandler; a grandson, James Pullum and son-in-law, R. L. Anderson.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Joyce (Robert) Studamire and China Jean Anderson; six grandchildren, Carlos, Tawanna, Toya, Curt, Alice and Fredrick Jr.; six great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mr. Robert Pullum will be laid to rest next to his wife, Mary Alice in Lindenwood Cemetery
