Obituary

Allen Whitlock Jr. was born February 3, 1948 in Atlantic City, New Jersey to the late Allen and Anna Ruth (Lanier) Whitlock, Sr. On Thursday, November 2, 2017 at the age of 69, he exchanged this life for a pair of wings and was welcomed into the loving arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for eternal rest.

He left Atlantic City around 1995 and moved to Fort Wayne for a short time and later returned back to his childhood home. While living in Fort Wayne he had worked for Hilton and Holiday Inn Hotels for many years.

He loved to take walks, work, listen to his music and simply being around family.  Allen also enjoyed going along with his family when they went crabbing and fishing.  As we all know Allen could be quite stubborn and set in his ways.  And we will always remember how he loved sitting on the porch talking about old times.

Allen was also preceded in death by his sisters,  Mary Taylor, Jeanette Whitlock; brothers, Michael Whitlock and Henry Lanier; nephews, Tarik Williams, Sharif Whitlock, Michael Whitlock and Jamar Whitlock; a niece, Lisa Lanier and sister-in-law, Althea Whitlock.

He leaves to cherish many loving memories to his sisters, Norma Williams, Ruth Mullen, Patricia Stevenson, Sandra (Rufus) Freeman and Kathy Whitlock-Keys; brothers, David Whitlock, William (Rita) Whitlock, and Milton Whitlock and Edward (Carolyn) Whitlock and sister-in-law Joyce Lanier with a host of  nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He will be laid to rest in Lindenwood Cemetery
