Arthur Ware Jr. Obituary

Mr. Arthur Ware Jr.

"Loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend"

Arthur “Art” Ware Jr. was born on March 30, 1940 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to the union of  the late Arthur Ware and  Melvin Elizabeth (Cunningham) Ware.

He accepted Christ as his Savior around the age of eight and baptized at Turner Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church. During his numerous years of membership at Turner Chapel, he served faithfully in several capacities throughout the church, which included: First Manager for House of Sharing; Head of Finance Committee (20 years); Trustee (20 years); Senior Usher Board; Sunday School Attendee and Bible Study Attendee.

Art attended Central High School where he excelled in football.  He often reflected back on how Mr. Danny Jones assisted him in gaining employment at the Wolf & Dessauer Department Store, where he worked for a few years.

In 1958, while attending a basketball game, he met Marine Jones. Two years later they were joined in holy matrimony and they were blessed with five children.

In 1965, he began employment with International Harvester. In 1983, he became part of a major layoff due to declining truck sales. With a family to provide for and Art being the ultimate provider for his family, he began working at the Fort Wayne Foundry where he remained for 10 years.  Art remained faithful to God's word and after a lengthy wait to be called back, in 1994, International Harvester (Navistar) called him back to the Springfield, Ohio plant.  He finished out his time there and retired in July 1999.

In October 2010, he united with Shiloh Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor  Albert Walker where he attended Bible Study.

Earlier in life, he enjoyed fishing and playing cards with family and friends, keeping the grass and yard well manicured and looked forward to spending holidays with his family. In his later years, his favorite past time became resting, completing crossword puzzles and he truly loved spending time with his beloved wife and dining out.  Art was a family oriented man and enjoyed having  family and friends of all ages around him.

Art was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Melvin Ware; siblings, Alphonzo Black, Bobby Ware, Hardy Ware Sr., Paul S. Ware, Delores (Black) McGilberry, Bettie E. Cox, Willie Ware and Gladys Reed and a great grandson, Raytwon Robinson.

Art leaves to cherish his loving spirit, a loving wife of 59 years, Marine Ware; his one and only son, Arthur (Sabrina) Ware III; four devoted daughters, Michele (Thomas Jr.) Swain, Vicki (John) Bowen; Leslie Ware-Johnson and Christa (DaVon) Perry; a special adopted son, John (Robin) Dumont;  special adopted daughter, Kara Edens; a god-daughter, Colette Graham; beloved grandchildren, SeAndra (Micheal) Robinson,  Porsha Ware, Thomas (Mahogany) Swain III, Brea Ware, Tyun (Taysir) Fomby, Andrea Ware, Donte Bowen, Tyrell Swain, Marnai McGraw, Arthur Ware IV, Sasha (Jason) Wattley, Keshona Fomby, Breohnt Ellington and Natisha (Savor) Kingsley;  nine nieces near and dear to him, Marva Crawford, Inez (Anthony) Rogers, Linda (Eugene) Scruggs,    Sharon Lockett, Chandra Ware-Brown, Kimberly Dunbar, Pauline Reed, Regina Day and Harriet Ware; a brother-in -aw, Frank Jones; two sisters-in-law, May Robbie Jones and   Suelena Carol Ware; 19 great grandchildren and several other beloved nieces, nephews and friends.
