Beacher Dodd was born July 9, 1934 in Kansas City, Missouri to the late Etta Sanders and Beacher Dodd, Sr. Beacher was a resident of the Life Care Center of Fort Wayne, Indiana before transitioning to be with the Lord on Monday, February 5, 2018, at the age of eighty-three years.
Beacher graduated from Tucson Public High School in 1951 and attended the University of Arizona.
Beacher worked many years as a cook and was last employed at Craftline Printing Co., in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Beacher affectionately known as ‘’Pops’’ to friends and ‘’PA, PA’’ to the younger generation was a special character. He was a willing advisor, a comedian, often the center of attention but somehow he managed to balance all of these traits with a loving heart.
Beacher also known for his excellent cooking skills was once asked, ‘’what is your specialty?’’ He replied, ‘’food.’’ He enjoyed recalling his hay days working for the rich and famous in Hollywood. He enjoyed riding motorcycles but what he enjoyed most was spending time with extended family members and friends.
Beacher is preceded in death by his mother, Etta Sanders; his father, Beacher Dodd, Sr.; his sister, Betty Cook and a brother.
Beacher is survived by his longtime friend, Alice Hall of Fort Wayne, Indiana.; his two sisters, Connie Hill and Elizabeth Wilford of Tucson, Arizona; his god-sister, Arlene Lee of Tucson, Arizona; his eight children, daughters: Pam Dodd, Lillian (Dodd) Osbond, Arlene (Dodd) Reed, Nikki Allen of Tucson, Arizona and Michelle Dodd of Bakersfield, California; his sons, Anthony Dodd, Lonnie Dodd, Charles Dodd and special god-son, DeAndre Garcia; his special niece, Carolyn Cook; his 14 grandchildren; his 26 great-grandchildren; his special great-grandson, Quincy Hall and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
