Bishop Clarence Eldridge Sr. was born September 18, 1940 in Hamburg, Alabama. He was the son the late George and Annie Lee Eldridge.
At the age of 77, God said “Come take your rest.” on Sunday, March 4, 2018 after a brief stay at Coventry Meadows Rehabilitation Center.
He retired from Dana Corp. after 25 years of service.
In 1994, he and his wife, Margie started Christ Church of Faith where they remained steadfast and faithful for 27 years.
He leaves behind his loving and devoted wife of 47 years, Pastor Margie Eldridge; children, Clarence Jr. (Paulette) Eldridge, Cynthia (Greg) Copeland, Michaele Wallace, Ka’Rin Eldridge and Robert Eldridge; eight siblings, Frank Eldridge, Ethel Brewer, George (Carolyn) Eldridge, Johnnie (Joyce) Eldridge, Annie Bryant, A. C. (Juanita) Eldridge, Willie Eldridge and Joanne Eldridge, 25 grandchildren, 52 great grandchildren, 18 great-great grandchildren, and a host of niece, nephews, other family members and friends.
Bishop Eldridge was also preceded in death by three daughters, Tina, Sheryl and Alita Eldridge and two siblings, Charlie Eldridge and Ernestine Smith.
Bishop Eldridge will be entombed in Covington Memorial Gardens Monday, March 12, 2018
