Mrs. Carrie Dowdell

Carrie (Williams) Dowdell was born on July 4, 1939 in Marion, Alabama.  She passed away on Monday, January 28, 2019 Lutheran Hospital.

She accepted Christ at an early age and attended Central High School.

Carrie was previously employed at Hanna Elementary School in the cafeteria.  After the school closing, she accepted a position in the Food Service Division where was a food service specialist. She retired after 30 years of employment.

In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, gardening, flowers and caring for her family.

Carrie leaves to cherish her memory a beloved husband of 63 years, Robert J. Dowdell; children, Debra Porter, Denise Burton, Doris Dowdell, Diana (Mike) James, Robert J. Dowdell Jr. and Donna Russell; siblings, Barbara Ann Anderson, Beatrice Brooks, David (Kay) Brooks, Edward Brooks, Jack “Buddy” Brooks and Roosevelt “Frog” Warren; sisters-in-law, Loucille Allen and Angeline (Jesse) Barron; nine grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild along with a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Jerome Brooks and a sister, Jacqueline Williams.

She will be laid to rest in Lindenwood Cemetery
