David Lee Anderson

David Lee ”Sonny” Anderson was  born on  August 9, 1944 in Tate, Mississippi to Hattie B. Pratcher and Alex Pratcher Jr. 

He passed away on Monday, September 17, 2018 at Majestic Care of New Haven.

“Sonny” as he was lovingly called,  grew up in several cities and states on his journey through life, before making Fort Wayne, Indiana his home.  At the age of 19, he began employment at General Motors -Defiance, Ohio.  He had a special love for flashy suits, motorcycles and fancy cars.  In 2005,  he married, Martha Simon.

Mr. Anderson was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Danielle “GeGe” Johnson; a sister, Myrtle Sue Brodus and a brother, Evanule Pratcher.

He leaves to cherish his memory four daughters, Nycole Harris of Florida, Hattie B. Pratcher, Patricia Pratcher and Angelica Simon all of Fort Wayne; two step-daughters, Latisha Hamilton-Smith of Fayetteville, North Carolina and Tasha Simon-Suttle of Fort Wayne; two sons, Calvin Walker and Ahmad Peoples of Elkart, Indiana; a stepson, Rafeal Simon of Kokomo, Indiana; siblings, Gladys Pratcher, Ruthie Pratcher, Isabella Pratcher, Brenda Pratcher, Bobby Sue Pratcher, Ginnie Gray, Mary Gray all of Elkart, Indiana and Daisy (Milton) Banks; brothers, Joe (Cathy) Pratcher and Curtis Pratcher, 13 grandchildren, five    great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
