Ernestine McGraw
Lovingly known to many as
“Due”was born to Elbert and Hattie Starks Sr. on May 16, 1948 in Selma, Alabama, the youngest of 10 children.
Earnestine accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior, at Friendship Baptist Church, in Brown, Alabama.
She was united in holy matrimony to the love of her life, on July 28, 1972 to Dearil McGraw. They later joined Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, where she attended for over 35 years.
Earnestine and Dearil were blessed with three beautiful children, Shenell Moffet, Brian and Dearil Lamar McGraw Jr.
Earnestine graduated from South Side High School in 1966, and became employed at General Electric/BAE Systems, in 1969. She was employed there for 34 years.
Earnestine served faithfully at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Albert Walker, as a Deaconess, a Missionary and a Choir member.
She was called to rest on June 7th, 2019 at her home, with her loving husband and family by her side.
Earnestine will be forever remembered by her devoted husband, Dearil McGraw, of 44 years. Two sons Brian and Dearil Lamar McGraw Jr. Sisters, Hattie Norfleet, Della Jackson, both of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Scottie Walker of Kansas City, Missouri, one brother Elbert (Brenda) Starks Jr., of Huntsville, Alabama. A special son, Jamarkus Taylor, a special niece, Debra Cowans, 11 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by parents Elbert and Hattie Starks Sr. Daughter, Shenell Moffet; sisters, Savannah Jordan, Annie Kinnie, Bernice Dupree, and Thelma Williams, and one brother Herman Starks.
