Hester Murray Obituary

Mrs. Hester "Lisa" Melissa (Holman) Murray was born on July 12, 1923 in Fort Wayne, Indiana, to the late Hazel Holman and the late Harry Holman. She passed away at the age of 94 years on June 3, 2018. Hester graduated from Central High School. Hester was the loving wife of the late Sam Murray Sr. and was a member of Gomez Temple A.M.E. Church.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Harry Holman JR.; and sisters, Edna Murray, Ada Miller, Bernice McCarver and Marian Jane Lee.

Hester is survived by her sons, Frederick Murray and Dave Murray; daughter, Viola Marie Walton; grandchild, Andrea Lanier Walton; great-grandchildren, Ayanna Milan Walton and Ammon Zamir Bunton; and special friends Cumby Walton Jr and Celeste Wright. She also leaves several nieces, nephews and host of friends and other relatives.
