James Williams

Mr. James Williams was born January 11, 1947 Marion, (Perry County) Alabama to the late Pastor Marvin and Mary (Moore) Williams.  He departed this life on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at his home.

He accepted Christ at an early age and continued his relationship with the Lord when he move to Fort Wayne, Indiana. James became a member of True Love Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Bishop Jesse White.

He later began employment with General Electric Company where he worked for several years.

He was united in wedlock to the love of his life Ms. Mary M. Phillips on June 14, 1975. The Lord blessed them to share 43 years of marriage. He was the proud stepfather of seven children who he loved and cherished. James was a quiet spirited man. He loved watching basketball, soap operas and making the best Kool-Aid ever.

He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Leroy Williams, Marvin Williams Jr., Laura Githiri, Supt. Bennie Williams and Helen L. Cherry and a grandson, Cameron Fitzgerald.

James leaves a legacy of memories with his loving and devoted wife, Mary P. Williams; children, Joseph Walker, Maggie L.  Kizer, Linda Lee Phillips, Antonio Phillips, Anthony Walker, Angela Walker-Cassell and Denise Walker all of Fort Wayne, IN; sisters, Mattie Williams and Pearle Taylor both of Fort Wayne, IN; 31 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mr. Williams will be laid to rest in Covington Memorial Gardens
