Evangelist Jannie Ruffin-Chandler was born on February 1, 1954 in Jacksonville, North Carolina. She passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at Parkview Regional Medical Center.
At a young age she confessed her faith in Christ and was baptized at First Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Jacksonville High School.
In 1974, she moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana. She continued her education at IVY Tech and Indiana Tech.
Jannie re-dedicated her life to Christ at Kingdom Door Christian Worship Center under the leadership of Pastor Harold Johnson. While under his leadership she answered her call as an Evangelist and ministered faithfully until the end.
While the majority of her time was spent as a homemaker and childcare provider, she retired from the hospitality industry after several years of service.
She enjoyed spending time with family, fishing and keeping company with her best friend, K-9 Goldie.
Her precious memories will forever remain with those who love her. She leaves her loving children, Tonyetta (Brett) Eley, Shawnyetta Ruffin, Minister Antonio Ruffin, Shenina Ruffin, Constance Ruffin and Christy Ruffin; siblings, Willie Mae Littlejohn, Frankie Miller and Rachel (Ronnie) Richardson; 17 grandchildren with "one on the way", 6 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Annie Mae Ruffin; three siblings, Willie Lee Ruffin, Mary Simmons and Robert Ruffin; a brother-in-law, Kenneth Miller; nephew, Casem Littlejohn and a great niece, Janiya Easley.
