John William Booker

John William Booker

was born on May 23, 1942 in Tony, Alabama to Obadiah and Mary Lue (Davis) Booker.  He passed from this life at the age of 77 on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at Summit City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana. 

He was owner of Booker Hauling and had served in the United States Navy.  John was a sports fanatic. He played Semi-Pro Tennis and Bowling. 

John began his walk of faith for Jehovah God many years ago. Although suffering through a myriad of health issues, John’s faith and service to Jehovah never wavered. All who knew him, knew about his love for and faith in Jehovah God. He believed in hard work ethics, religion and family.

He leaves to cherish, his children, Johnny R. Booker, Shelia Powell and Micheal Malone; siblings, Carla, Lori, Anthony, Herman (Bobbye) and Gordon Booker, Norma Jean Crowder and Obi Badili; former wife of 27 years and friend, Barbara Booker; two grandchildren, Sierra and Jakquel Booker; other relatives and friends.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Obadiah and Mary Lou Booker; siblings, Kenneth and Richard Booker.

John will be truly missed by his family and many friends.
