Johnnie Mae (Essix) Wyatt, was born in Marion, Alabama to the late Mae Withers and Lillian T. Essix, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 6, 2018.
She moved to Coretta, West Virginia and then to Fort Wayne, Indiana where she married the late William Johnson and to this union one daughter, Sandra (Johnson) White was born. She later married Odell Wyatt and they shared 23 years together.
She accepted Christ at an early age and was became a member of Pilgrim Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. John Dixie.
She was employed by General Electric Company and retired after 48 years of service.
She leaves to cherish her memory, a loving and devoted daughter, Sandra White; grandchildren, Lane (Araina) Johnson, April (Demarcus) Carroll and Jacqueline Parrish; great grandchildren, Tatiana (Carl) Kiel, Demetrise Johnson, Genori, Genyya and Ge Anna Parrish, Harmony Kelley, Shaquille and Contrell Booker, Dominique Fowlkes and Mariah Campbell; one great-great grandchild, Eddie Kiel; special friend, David Fuqua along with other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by her adopted sister, Annette McKinley and a grandson, Shawn Johnson.
Service is 11 am Wednesday, July 18, 2018 Pilgrim Baptist Church with visitation from 5-7 pm Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at Ellis Funeral Home.
She will be laid to rest in Lindenwood Cemetery.
