Samella Campbell departed this life at the age of 77 on Monday, October 7, 2019 at Northridge Care Center. Samella was born in Tutwiler, Mississippi on June 19, 1942 to the late Peter and Beatrice Bullock.
Samella attended West District High School in Tutwiler, MS. Once living in Fort Wayne, she gained employment at Magnavox. Samella loved her family, life, and bowling. She was part of Summit City Travelers and multiple bowling leagues for several years.
While Samella worked at Magnavox, she also was a licensed cosmetologist in the evening and let us not forget her passion, love and great skill of being a wonderful seamstress. Her talents led her to own and operate Young's Sewing Center for many years until she closed it in May of 2019.
Her wonderful memories will forever be in the hearts of her children, Charles (Dorothy) Bullock of San Diego, California, Jeanette (James) McNeal of Peoria, Arizona and Jimmy (Michelle) Williams of Fort Wayne, Indiana; seven sisters, Charley Mae (Otis) Hardy, Evelyn Jackson, Cleo (John) Chapman, all of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Connie (Willie) Gray of Jackson, Tennessee and Joe Ann Greene of Silvers Springs, Maryland; three brothers, Richard Bullock of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Clarence Bullock (Roxanne) of Anchorage, Alaska and Fred Bullock (Satiya) of Baltimore, Maryland; 13 grandchildren, James, Quincy, Darnell, Jocelynn, Belen, Jerine, Jerita, JerVon, Kirk Jr, Ashley, Bryndon, Cheyenne and Mya and a host great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Samella was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie Young; her mother and father Peter and Beatrice Bullock; sister, Dian Bullock and brothers, Peter and Tommie Bullock.
