Shirley L. (Booker) Derrick was born to the late Joe and Lucy J. (Wells) Booker on July 30, 1935 in Uniontown, Alabama.  She departed her earthly life on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at home.

Upon moving to Fort Wayne, Indiana in 1958, she joined Pilgrim Baptist Church.  She later made St. John Missionary Baptist Church her church home until her health started to fail.

Shirley will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend.  She was a free - spirted woman who made everybody laugh.

She was also preceded in death by her husband Oscar Derrick in 2005.

Shirley leaves to cherish her memory, one daughter, Rose Ann Booker and son, William Mane (Marsha) Booker both of Fort Wayne; two brothers, William (Joyce) Booker of Decatur, Alabama and Lewis (Willie S.) Booker of Fort Wayne; four sisters, Gracie Booker, Polly Booker, Belle Booker and Juanita Booker all of Fort Wayne; three grandchildren, Javonne Booker, Jerome Booker and Hombreha Pinkston all of Fort Wayne; six great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Sis. Derrick will be laid to rest in Marion National Cemetery with her husband the late Deacon Oscar Derrick
