Stephanie Latrice Slack

We will miss her, but we know she’s resting in the Arms of Jesus.

Stephanie Latrice Slack departed this life at the tender age of 42 on Sunday, September 22, 2019 at home.   She was born in Chicago, Illinois on January 7, 1977 to Doris Slack and Tyrone Henry.

Stephanie attended Scalan Elementary School and Finger High School while living in Chicago.  After moving to Fort Wayne she gained employment with Avancez Assembly.  She loved the Lord, her family, life and cooking where some thought she always added a touch of magic to her food.

She was a dedicated member and usher at Cathedral of Praise International.  Stephanie had a desire to be of more service to the ministry of the church.

We will always remember her smile, and her way of making you laugh.  Family was important to her, she was a cornerstone in the lives of many.  We will cherish the memories of her colorful socks that she loved to wear and her love of riding roller coasters and her quoting one of her favorite passages of the Bible; “Do not touch my anointed ones, do my prophets no harm.” Psalm 105:15

Memories will forever be with her sons, Charon (Krysten Barton) Slack and Brandon Slack; sisters, Shanika, Lashonda, Sharneice and Kelly Slack; a niece, Amaria Thomas; nephews, Reginald Tracy, Ja’Carter and Jeremiah Thomas; grandson, Samuel Barton; four aunts, Rosemary Payton, Linda Brown, Annette Wills, Dee Mitchel-Collins; a uncle, Tony Mitchell, a host of cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Tyrone Henry and Doris Slack; a sister, Aletra Slack.
