The Legacy           

THOMAS (Ho-Cake) CONWELL SR. was born on September 30, 1940 to the late David and Eddie Mae Conwell Sr. He departed this life on Friday, April 7th, 2017 at home.

Accepting Christ at an early age; Thomas served as a Deacon at Emanuel Baptist Church, under the leadership of the late Rev. Wilson. He was employed at General Motors in Defiance, Ohio as a Laborer/Relief Operator for 45 years, then later retiring in August 2004.

Thomas loved spending time with his family, fishing, camping, watching his westerns, listening to the blues, and playing his lottery numbers.

Thomas leaves to cherish his memories: his beloved wife of 54 years, Georgia M. Conwell, sons: Thomas Conwell Jr, Carlton Starks, Ronald Starks, Anthony (Dionne) Conwell, Joseph (Rochelle) Conwell, Jerome (Carmen) Conwell, and Aaron (Breonda) Conwell; daughters: Gloria Conwell, Gladys Starks, Sandra (Wilbert) Brantley, Lashanda (Domonic) Conwell, and Teyonia Powell; brothers: Rev. Otis Conwell, and Melvin Conwell; sisters: Daisy M. Riley, Josephine (Marvin) Lee Morgan, and Sarah Lardell; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was proceeded in death by his parents: David and Eddie Mae Conwell Sr., sister: Vera Turner, brothers: David L. Conwell, Johnny L. Conwell, Robert J. Conwell, and his grandson Joseph D. Conwell Jr.

 

​Thomas will be laid to rest in Lindenwood Cemetery
