Alyssa Adrienne Chapman Obituary
Alyssa Adrienne Chapman was born October 2, 1961, in Fort Wayne, Indiana to the late Lincoln and Rosetta (Caldwell) Chapman. She was called home to be with the Lord, Friday, July 3, 2026, at the age of 64.
As a member of Pilgrim Baptist Church, Alyssa accepted Christ and was baptized at a young age. She continued her walk with God, later, joining Unity Christian Fellowship church.
Alyssa graduated from South Side High School in 1980. Although she was invited to join the Navy’s Nuclear Physics program at 17, Alyssa continued her education at Indiana University, Bloomington, and later, IPFW, Fort Wayne.
Alyssa’s relationship with her family’s business began at her father’s skating rink on Jefferson Boulevard. As the business transitioned from the skating rink to the multi-faceted facility on Creighton Avenue, she took on various roles. In the early 2000’s, Alyssa obtained additional work experience while employed at CDS and Canterbury Nursing facility.
In 2007, Alyssa became a Partner and the General Manager of Lincoln Chapman Enterprises, Inc., until the business closed in 2020. Lastly, Alyssa was employed by Cato Fashions, as an assistant manager.
Alyssa was the glue that held her family together! She loved music, especially 80s R&B and Funk. She enjoyed playing games, watching cooking shows and travel. Alyssa’s love for her family and community was always apparent, as she greeted all with her beautiful smile, warm hugs, and sincere concern. She was never short of charm, wit, intelligence or the ability to evoke a laugh! Alyssa was a competent servant-leader, who never asked more of others than she was willing to give. She worked tirelessly, never missing a deadline nor disappointing any customer. Alyssa was the backbone of the “Wonderland!”
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lincoln and Rosetta (Caldwell) Chapman, and brothers, Lincoln, Jr. and Walter K. Chapman.
Alyssa leaves to cherish beautiful memories, sisters, Alma D. Chapman and Treacy Dixie-Parker; niece, Kala K Chapman; and Timothy C. Dixie, all of Fort Wayne; “special
sisters” Roxanne Green and Cynthia Sims; and a host of relatives, friends, colleagues and hundreds of beloved former customers.
