Antione Jovascia Austin Sr. departed this life unexpectedly on February 27, 2026, at the age of 38.

Antione was born on October 20th, 1987, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, to Shirley Austin and Jerry Austin Jr.

At the age of 20, Antione became a father, which was a very special and meaningful time in his life. In 2015, he married Janet Brooks. Although their marriage later ended in divorce in 2017, the two remained devoted life partners and continued building their family together. Their union was blessed with six additional children, and in 2025 they lovingly opened their home to another teenager, bringing their family to a total of eight children.

Antione completed his GED in 2011 through Ivy Tech Community College and later completed his CDL training in 2025. He worked as a CNC operator at Dana for three years, where he enjoyed his work and formed meaningful friendships with many of his coworkers.

Antione had a true entrepreneurial spirit. He was always developing ideas and plans for future businesses, with a vision of creating generational wealth so that his children would never have to struggle in life. He was determined to accomplish that goal.

Known by many as “Sco” or “Big Homie,” Antione had a personality that could light up any room. He had a remarkable ability to make friends wherever he went and believed that no one was a stranger. His loyalty to the people he loved was unmatched.

Antione loved to travel and enjoy life. Above all, he cherished spending time creating memories with family and friends, especially with his children, who meant the world to him.

Antione was also strengthening his relationship with the Lord. On November 23, 2025, he was baptized at Branches of Christ in Fort Wayne, Indiana, committing himself to his spiritual journey.

Antione leaves to cherish his memory his parents, Shirley Austin and Jerry Austin Jr.; his devoted life partner, Janet Brooks; three daughters, NaTasia Austin, Nalayah Austin, and Nyiona Austin; five sons, Antione Austin Jr., Alijah Austin, Asaiah Austin, Avascia Austin, and Gerrell Bailey Jr.; two sisters, Shelia Austin and Christine Austin; nine godchildren; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who loved him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Lillie Mae Lacey and George W. Lacey; his paternal grandparents, Ludelia Austin and Jerry Austin Sr.; and several beloved aunts and uncles.

Though Antione’s time with us was far too short, the love he shared, the laughter he brought, and the legacy he leaves through his children will live on forever. His memory will continue to inspire those who knew and loved him to live fully, love deeply, and cherish every moment.
