Arterdean Stevens was born on September 3, 1936 to Loisey and Louise Stevens in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He passed from this earth on the morning of August 13, 2020 at the Aperion University Park Nursing facility.
He worked 30+ years at International Harvester as a repair mechanic retiring in May 1988. He then work for several more years at the VA Hospital in food services. Archie served his country as paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division. He worked his whole life to provide a good life for his family son Ivan and wife Joyce. He especially enjoyed spending time with his two grandsons, Lennix and Landon, taking them bowling and to baseball games. Nothing was more important to him than caring for his family,
Archie attended Central High School and later graduated from North Side High School. He married the love of his life Joyce D. Stevens on January 30, 1971.
Archie leaves behind his siblings, Elizabeth, Wanda Jean, Loisey Jr. and Phylis. He was preceded in death by his brother Jonathan and father Loisey.
Archie was preceded in death by his uncles, Robert Stubbs, Jewel Stevens; aunts, Christina Stubbs-Williams, Zella Williams and Mattie Stevens.
His memory lives on with his wife Joyce, son Ivan, daughter-in-law Ronnell, grandsons Lennix and Landon.
Archie’s extended family includes in-laws, Carlton and Cheryl Jackson, Jean Jackson, Richard and Bonita Jackson, Charles Cammack Sr., Minister Joseph Smith, Elbert and Willie Dean Wyatt along with a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces, great-great nephews, other family and friends.
