Arthur Essex Jr.

Arthur Essex, Jr. better known as “Man” entered this world with a big bang on Sunday, March 3, 1957. His parents, Deacon Arthur Sr., and Mother Gladys (Jackson) Essex welcomed a healthy boy after already having two girls. Arthur was affectionately known to many as “Man”. 

He departed this life on Tuesday, July 25, 2023. 

Man leaves to cherish his memory, his nieces and nephew he claimed as his own, Andre’ (Felechia) Oates, Antisha (Lonzo II) Terry, Mariska Essex, and Meena Essex (Randolph Cobb Jr.); sisters, Christine (James) Lindsey and Pat Oates; 1 great niece; 10 great nephews; aunts and uncles; as well as a host of cousins, other family members, and friends.
There will be an open visitation on Sunday, August 6 from 3:00 - 5:00pm at the Ellis Funeral Home.  The funeral service will begin at 5:00pm.  Arthur Essex Jr. will be laid to rest on Monday, August 7th at 11:00am at Covington Memorial Gardens.
