Ms. Berenice Crews, age 70, is remembered fondly by her family and friends.  She was born in Zion, Illinois to Annie Boddie and Rufus Johnson, and lived here in Ft. Wayne, Indiana.  

Ms. Crews was preceded in death by: her husband, Jeffrey Crews; her parents Annie Butler and Rufus Johnson; her son James (Plug) Johnson; and her brother, John Boddie.

She is survived by her children, Sheldon Smith, Tylea Walton, and Jasmine (Jazzy) Smith; 17 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; her siblings, James Johnson, Robert (Frank) Johnson, Mary (Angie B.) McDowell, and Minnie Upshaw.
