Carol Lee Moore was born February 24, 1939 in Washington, Indiana to John and Bertha (Curry) Nuckols. At the age of 81, she passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at I. U. Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Carol’s family relocated to Fort Wayne, Indiana when she was an infant. She was later baptized at an early age and was a member of Gomez A.M.E. Church.
She was a 1956 graduate of Central High School and retired from U.C.L.A. after more than 30 years of service. In the early 1990’s, she relocated back to Fort Wayne and began employment with Indiana Purdue Fort Wayne University. She remained there for several years until retiring in 2006.
Carol leaves to cherish her memory, a loving and devoted husband of 30 years, Jerry Moore Jr.; children, Leonard T. Barton, Christeann A. Barton and Vanya K. Cobb; eight stepchildren, Charles (Kim) Holliness, Gerald A. (Anne) Moore, Cynthia L. Moore, Robert M. (Molly) Moore, Kimberly Bohde, Jerry Moore III, Shawn Ambercrombie, Shannon P. (Antrell) Perry, four grandchildren, Damone Leon Robinson, Jemal Lemar Moore, Janora Huff and Dwight Cobb Jr. , several great grandchildren along with a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Councilman John Nuckols and Bertha Nuckols and a son-in-law, Dwight Cobb Sr.
