Claud Jones Obituary

 

Claude Lee Jones was born August 22, 1941 in Ridgley, Tennessee.

 

He departed this earthly life on September 5, 2022 at Parkview Randallia in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

 

Claud accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized.

 

In November 1959, he enlisted in the United States Army and received his Honorable Discharge in March 1962.  He in turn made a commitment to serve the Army Reserves until November 1965.

 

After returning home from the service, he later made Fort Wayne his home.

 

He attended school and received training in Fort Wayne for Engineering and Blueprinting

we’re he gained employment with Ward Pattern Engineering Corporation and retired after 30+ years of service.

 

 

Claud could be a loner at times but he truly cherished and loved his family. He never hesitated to lend a helping hand to others when in need, if he was able.

 

He enjoyed going to parks, traveling, fishing, gardening, watching sports, music, building things , staying involved with his grandchildren. He could rig things up,improvise and fix anything to make it work.

He also thought he was professional photographer, he loved snapping pictures and didn’t care where he was or what you looked like.

 

 

He leaves to cherish his memory a daughter, 

Christina Martin of Indianapolis IN; son,

Greg Masterson of Fort Wayne, IN; bonus son, Joel Perry of Fort Wayne, IN; grandchildren, Shanya Washington, Carion Washington, JeMirya Lapsley, Deyaka Starks, Qualin Masterson and Denique Masterson; a special great grandson, his buddy, Cylen Threats; brother, William (Gwen) Avery of Tiptonville, TN; sisters, Inez (Lance) Royal, Ora Blunt and Jessie Person all of Fort Wayne, IN along with a host of other grandchildren, great grandchildren nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

 

Claud was preceded in death by his parents, Will Jones and Louise (Sanders)Jones; James A. Avery, James F. Avery and Ben Caldwell and sister, Mary E. Person.


He will be laid to rest in Marion National Cemetery.
