DeLois D. Bolling

Mother DeLois D. Bolling was born on October 2, 1938 in Marvel, Alabama to Samuel Lee and Evelyn Davis, both of whom preceded her in death. She was married to the late Deacon James D. Bolling, whom she revered as the most amazing man in her life.

She confessed Christ at an early age and joined Mount Grove Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor W.D. Dickerson. In 1983, she moved to Fort Wayne, IN and joined the Tree of Life Missionary Baptist Church, serving under the leadership of Pastor Mozell Davis Sr. She remained a faithful member of Tree of Life Missionary Baptist Church until her transition. 

Mother Bolling was affectionately known by many names. Mama, Nana, Lady Dee, LoBo, Bingo Queen... you can fill in the blank with who she was to you. She was the kindest, most selfless person to all who knew her. She never met a stranger, and instantly became Mother to many people she met during her time on this earth. Her infectious smile and contagious laugh resonated in the hearts of all that were blessed to experience it, and she was just as beautiful on the inside as she was outside.
 

She enjoyed many things- listening to music, going to church, traveling to places near and far, and we could never forget her beloved BINGO. But the one thing she loved more than anything was her family. It was no secret that she would do anything for the ones she loved the most, and she never missed an opportunity to brag about how proud she was of her family. Her greatest joy was spending time with her loved ones. From family reunions to Sunday dinners, nothing in this world made her happier than being surrounded by the love of her family.

Mother DeLois Bolling departed this life on June 23,  2021 at Parkview Regional Medical Center.
 

She leaves to cherish her legacy a son, Pastor James (Yvonne) Bolling of Sidney, OH; three daughters, Vallisa P. Hatcher, Angela M. Bolling, and Veronica A. Sanders, all of Fort Wayne, IN; nine grandchildren, three of which she raised, Marquice (Stephanie), Arquerhia, and Shauntesa, as well as Samuel, Demarcus, Evelyn, Cedric, Ternell (Maria), and Mary; 17 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; four siblings, Pearl Jones-Burns, Betty (George) Moore, Samuel (Mary) Davis Jr., and Rosa Davis, and a host of other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, Teresa R. Brand and Evelyn Bolling, and one sister, Mildred Warren.
