Dwight T. Griffin, age 72, of Fort Wayne, IN passed away Friday, February 5, 2021, at his home.
Born May 18, 1948, in Carthage, Arkansas, he was the son of the late Lee and Laurine Griffin.
Dwight retired from Superior Enterprises after many faithful years of employment. He was a member of Summit Church for many years.
Dwight is survived by his wife, Julia Griffin; children, Beatrice Emler (Dwight) of Coshocton, OH, Dr. Yvonne Stokes (Larry Shelton) of Munster, IN, Shirley Wright (Terry) of Ashburn,VA, and Councilwoman Sharon Tucker-Barbour (Tim) of Fort Wayne, IN. His son, Dwight Griffin Jr. preceded him in death. Dwight is also survived by his siblings, Nancy Shields (Michael) of Seattle, WA, Yvonne Hill (Jerry) of Fort Wayne, IN, Beverly Griffin of Atlanta, GA, Joyce Davis (Alton) of Grapevine, AR, Larry Griffin of Little Rock, AR, James Griffin of Carthage, AR and Donnie Griffin (Barbara) of Rison, AR; eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Raymond Griffin, Sterling Lea, Sharilyn Griffin-Holman, and Loretta Griffin.
“Celebration of Life” is 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 11, 2021, at Ellis Funeral Home, 1021 Lewis St., Fort Wayne, IN with walk-through viewing one hour prior.
