Earnestine R. Stevenson-Thomas

Earnestine R. Stevenson-Thomas age 86, was born on May 14, 1935 in Marion, Alabama to the parents of the late Will Smith Sr. and Inez Bennett-Cole. Earnestine received her call to eternal rest on July 21, 2021 at Life Care Center of Fort Wayne.

Earnestine accepted Christ at an early age and graduated from Lincoln High School in Marion, Alabama.

Earnestine loved God first and her beautiful family. She enjoyed spending time with her family, going out to eat, listening to music and taking care of her dog Hermie, which she called him her sweet thang. She also enjoyed watching her favorite game show host Steve Harvey on Family Feud daily.

She retired from Peter Eckrich, Fort Wayne State Developmental Center and Fort Wayne Community Schools.

Earnestine leaves to cherish her memory, her two daughters, Alberta (JC) Holifield and Carolyn Washington both of Fort Wayne, IN; one son, Willie (Bobbie) Stevenson of Fort Wayne, IN; one brother, Charles Smith Birmingham, Alabama; one sister, Catherine Tarver of Canton, OH; six grandchildren, Monica Stevenson, Darnell Stevenson both of Fort Wayne, Dr. DeShawn Stevenson of Atlanta, GA, Roshonda Stevenson of Fort Wayne, IN, Reggie (Marci) Stevenson of Indianapolis, IN, Irsenia Norfleet-Collins, DDS (Mike) of Chicago, IL and three great grandchildren, along with a host of other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Will Smith Sr. and Inez Bennett-Cole; sister Marie Hill, brother, Rev. Will Smith Jr. and her dogs Lucky and Porky.

Funeral Service is Noon, Thursday, July 29, 2021 at Ellis Funeral Home 1021 E. Lewis St, Fort Wayne, IN with walk through visitation one hour prior.
 

Mother Earnestine will be laid to rest in Covington Memorial Gardens.
