Eddie L. Phillips, age 82, passed away Sunday, May 23, 2021 at his home in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

 

He was born on February 15, 1939 in Marion, Alabama yo Dave and Fannie Phillips.

 

On June 11, 1966, he united in holy matrimony to  Earma J. Martin.

 

He was a longtime member of Gomez Temple AME Church where he was an usher, trustee and recipient of Man of the Year Award.  

 

He retired from K-Mart Distribution Center after 32 years of distinguished service.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dave and Fannie Phillips; his beloved wife of 50 years, Earma Phillips and three siblings, Fannie M. Coleman, Mattie M. Ford and David W. Phillips.

 

Surviving are his son, James D. Martin of Arlington, TX; two grandchildren, Anglea (Michael) Lang and John C. Martin; one great grandson, Maxwell Lang; one sister, Queen Greene and many other relatives and friends.

 

Service is 11 am Friday, June 4, 2021 at Ellis Funeral Home, 1021 E. Lewis St., Fort Wayne, IN  46806 with walk-through visitation starting at 10 am.

 

Burial in Highland Park Cemetery.
