Edward Michael "Buck" Arrington Obituary

Edward Michael "Buck" Arrington, 63, departed this life peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, November 29, 2025. He was born March 27, 1962, to Sarah and Eddie Arrington, Sr. From a young man, he showed a strong work ethic, a gentle heart, and a deep love for his family and community.

Buck was the proud owner and operator of Friendly Cleaners for over two decades. His business was not just a service, but a hub of friendship and community. Through his work, Buck not only provided a needed service; he built lasting relationships with his customers, who became like family. He was widely known for his respect, fairness, and kindness, consistently going the extra mile to help others whenever he could. He was very instrumental in engaging you in long conversation, didn’t matter what the subject was… “Buck never ran out of words—but out of time!”

Buck was a man whose life was deeply rooted in faith. His spiritual journey began at Antioch Baptist Church in Fort Wayne, where he was an active member for many years. The church was not just a place of worship for Buck, but also a community that nurtured his spiritual growth and strengthened his belief system. Then a connected friendship between Buck and Pastor Harold Johnson was not just about shared beliefs but also about mutual respect and admiration. Pastor Harold Johnson’s dedication to his congregation and his ability to inspire others resonated with Buck. Their discussions often delved into the nuances of faith, life’s challenges, and the importance of community support.

Buck’s legacy of cherished and fond loving memories will continue through his three sons, Michael Stephens, Casey Stephens and Emanuel Wilson; one daughter, Candice Flowers all of Fort Wayne; four brothers, Eddie Arrington, Derrick Arrington, Gary (Candace) Arrington all of Fort Wayne; Zigmond (Nikkie) Arrington of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Crawford Arrington of Marion, IN., two sisters, Angela Arrington Dudley of Fort Wayne, and Carrie Mae (Ivy) Hamilton of Greensboro, Alabama; twenty-four grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren; three step-children, TyJuan McGraw, Kejuan McGraw and Kiera McGraw; special niece, Theresa Arrington who was always by his side lending a helping hand; along with a host of extended family and friends.

Buck was preceded in death by his parents, Sarah Arrington, Eddie Arrington, Sr., and his sister, Emma Arrington.

"A Life Remembered"

Your hands worked hard, your heart was kind, A better soul we’ll never find.

You gave us love, you gave your care, A steady strength beyond compare.

Though silent now, your voice remains, In whispered winds and falling rains.

In every smile, in skies so blue, We see the light that came from you.

Your journey’s end, your spirit’s free. Rest now in peaceful memory,

Until we meet on heaven’s shore, You’ll stay in heart forever more.
