Brother Ernest Hatch, at the age of 74, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 11, 2021 in Fort Wayne, IN surrounded by his family. He was born January 23, 1947 to Richard and Annie Hatch. He gave his life to the Lord in 1976 and remained a “good and faithful servant” unto God until the Lord called him home.
Ernest graduated from Central High School. He worked for Sears for 35 years and Parker Hannifin for 12 years before retiring. He was a dedicated and faithful member of Greater Christ Temple Church where he held the record as the longest serving usher on the Usher Board. He enjoyed attending Sunday School and taking trips with his church family. He also loved fishing, attending car shows, spending time with family and friends and sharing his testimony about the goodness of the Lord with everyone. Ernest was a man of God who loved helping others and taking them under his wings encouraging them with truth and wisdom.
Ernest leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 25 years, Sadie Hatch; children: Tammy Hatch, Sherry(Darrell) Beachum, Ernest (Mia) Hatch Jr., Robert Taylor, Sandra (Darnell) Wright, Shontel (David) James, Allison (Randell) Sulfridge, Cory (Chanel) Jones, Rufus (Kavena) Williams, Cliffus (Brandy) Williams, and Terrance Williams; sisters: Lois (Billy) Tarver, Sabrina Hatch, Louise Robinson and Velma Surry; brother, Arlie (Vivian) Hatch, 22 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Annie Hatch, a brother, Victor Hatch, and two sisters, Suzie Bassett and Elizabeth Jones.
