Ernestine Terrell
A Loving Mother, Sister, Grandmother,
Aunt, Cousin and Friend
was 89 years of age when he passed peacefully on Friday, February 28, 2020 at Miller’s Merry Manor. She was born May 12, 1930 in Marion, Alabama to the late Lee Curtis and Annie Mable (Hasberry) Turner.
She graduated from Marion, Alabama School System. She accepted Christ early in life. After moving to Fort Wayne she gained employment with Parkview Hospital as a Nursing Assistant and retired from there after 40 years of dedicated service.
Ernestine meet and later married Ellis Terrell on November 25, 1947 and began their togetherness as one. That union lasted for 70 years until his passing in 2018. She was a member of the Pilgrim Baptist Church for many years serving as a Senior Usher and sang in the Senior Choir.
She leaves to honor and cherish her memory to her loving children, Ellis Terrell, Jr. (Carmen), Joseph Terrell (Debbie), a granddaughter as a daughter, Tracey Anderson (Duane); siblings, Albert Turner, Alberta Scott, Sadie Turner and Leila Hawkins; sisters-in-law, Leona Christian, Daisy Weaver and Jannie Jackson; her other grandchildren, Joseph Kazee, Asa Terrell and Kierstin Terrell; her great-grandchildren, Cameron (Rachael) Anderson, Natasha (Robin) Crosby, Jaden, Dailin, Davian, Justiss and Lyric Kazee, Aniyah and Alaya Terrell, Christion Terrell and Angelo Davis; great-great-grandchildren, Nakyia, Nyana and Rayland Crosby; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Geraldine Sellers; siblings, Matthew Turner, Eddie Turner, and Emerson Turner; in-laws, Will Terrell, Adolphus Terrell, Clara Maryweathers, Hattie Walker, Edward Terrell and Johnson Terrell, Jr.
She was laid to rest in Covington Memorial Gardens
