Eugene L. King Sr., age 88, went home to glory July 2, 2021. He was born in Marion, Alabama on May 2, 1933 to Willie Percy and Jennie Marie King.

He was a United States Army veteran of the Korean conflict and served from 1952-1954. He retired from B. F. Goodrich after 34 years of service in 1994.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 62 years, Ella Mae; two daughters, Maggie Wright and Norma Brown; four siblings, William King, Albert King, Mary Bennett and Jennie Bell Goree, a few grandchildren and great grandchildren.
 

He is survived by his son, Eugene L. (Lenette) King Jr., daughters, Anita Winston, Darlene (Albert) Crutchfield Carmen (Reginald) Moore, son, Keith (Carol) King,  daughters, Shelia Young, Jacqueline Wimbley, sons, Roland King, Patrick King, daughter, Tracy (Melvin) Woodget, and son, Chad King. 
 

Deacon King will be laid to rest next to the love of his life Ella Mae in Highland Park Cemetery.
