Ida Fowlkes Obituary

Ida L. Fowlkes was born August 4, 1932 in Marion, Alabama to the late Curtis Swain and Willie Mae McCarroll. She passed away on Monday, June 8, 2020 at Englewood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She attended Lincoln High School in Marion, Alabama and after moving to Fort Wayne, Indiana she later completed her GED and attended Fort Wayne Indiana University Extension.

Ida was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and retired in 1996 from the American Red Cross after 29 years of dedicated service.

Ida was preceded in death by her parents; three children, Grant Fowlkes, Jr. Marvin Fowlkes and Ruby Saviory and four siblings, Olphelia Ford, Flora Shannon, Albert and William McCarroll.

Left the cherish in her memory include her daughter, Alberta McCarroll of Florida; two sisters, Janie (Leo) Morton, Mary Kelsaw, Frances McCarroll and Mariln (Cecil) Palmer several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
