James Terry Morris “JT” was born on December 17, 1941 in Joiner, Arkansas, Mississippi County, to Ruben and Mary Morris.
At the age of 78, he earned his wings on Saturday, November 14, 2020 surrounded by his daughters.
James, better known as JT, PaPa, Bear or Uncle JT, to many, moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana in 1960. He worked odd jobs until becoming employed with General Electric Company and retired after 34 years of service.
James was a avid and dedicated bowler and softball player (and was quite good at it). He was also a member of Knights of Pythias Strotarian Lodge.
James spent most of his life ensuring his family was happy and well taken care of. He was the utmost loving husband and father you could have.
Left to cherish his memory include his beloved children, Amber Morris-Williams (Leon Williams), Izetta Morris-Hall (Adriene Bray), Cassandra Woods- (Matt) Aguirre and Jeffrey Todd Brown; nine grandchildren, Leondra Williams-Jackson, Janardo L Morris, Juan Williams, Tiffany Brown, Randale Morris, Ebbie Clark III, Odessey Morris-Clark, Destany Clark and Austin Williams; fourteen great-grand children; one brother Hilton (Lola) Morris Sr. and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosie l. (Johnson) Morris; daughter, Jennifer Morris-Clark; son, Jason Dickson-Morris; parents, Ruben and Mary Morris; grandparents, Greene and Lucy Morris; brothers, Samuel Sullivan, Chester Sullivan, Moses Sullivan-Johnson, Paul R. Morris, James “Joe” Jones, Calvin Keys and sisters, Mosielee Hudson and Margaret Knox.
JT will be laid to rest next to his wife, Mother Rose in Highland Park Cemetery
