James was born in Pensacola, Florida on December 28, 1937 to the late Leonard and Josephine Sheppard. He departed this life after long suffering on August 26th, 2025.  He moved to Ft. Wayne and retired from GM after many years.  He is survived by daughters Donnie Ballard, Michelle Moore and Teresa Smith; sons, James Jr. and Charles Sheppard and wife, Patricia.
