Jeraldean (Hill) Shearer

Jeraldean (Hill) Shearer was born on May 27, 1947, in West Blocton, Alabama. She departed this earthly life on January 22, 2021 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

 At an early age, she confessed her faith in Christ and was baptized at Mount Grove Baptist Church in West Blocton.

She received her high school education from Bibb County Training School.

Jeraldean was previously employed by the Fort Wayne State Developmental Center and retired from the State of Indiana Division of Family Social Services Administration. 

Shortly after her relocation to Fort Wayne, Jeraldean united with Friendship Baptist Church under the leadership of the late P. H. Love.  Later in life, she moved her membership to True Love Missionary Baptist Church where the late Bishop Jesse White was the pastor. She continued to serve faithfully under the current leadership of Pastor Robert Bell, until her health began to fail.

Jeraldean was a loving person with a quiet spirit and  enjoyed cooking, canning and attending church to hear God’s word.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Rosie (Williams) Davidson; son, Chester Hill; daughter-in-law, Rosemary Hill; grandson, Clifton Hill Jr.; sisters, Connie Preston and Dorothy Myatt and a brother, Howard Ray Preston.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Robert L. Shearer; sons, Clifton (Patricia)Hill and Marlon J. Hill; stepson, Robert L. Shearer Jr.; sisters, Margaret (Crawford) Freeman, Deborah Preston, Thelma Preston, Linda White, Beulah Smith and June Duncan; sister-in-law, Pam Preston; brothers, Steve Linda Preston, Clyde (Charlester) Preston, Kent (Diane)Preston, Billy Ray Hinton and Michael Hinton; aunt Virginia Taylor along with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins,  in-laws and friends.
