Jerome Wimes was born on January 1,1955 and he left our lives on November 9th, 2024. 

There aren’t many people out there like Jerome. He was a loving Father, Grandfather and Husband. Jerome was always so happy and full of joy, life, and laughter, no matter what the day brought. His bright eyes, big smile, and contagious laugh could light up any room. Friendly would be an understatement, as he would strike up a conversation with anyone and made everyone feel special with his attentive ear. He was full of never-ending wisdom, which he used to give heartfelt advice (and he was always right, whether you liked it or not). Most of all, Jerome embodied unconditional love. His love for his family and friends ran through his veins, knew no limits, and its absence will be deeply felt. There will forever be a hole in the world and in our lives where he once was.

Jerome was proceeded in death by his wife, Almetha Wimes; his parents, Simon and Ora Wimes; and a brother, Terry (April) Wimes. 

Surviving him are his three children: Jerome (Staci) Wimes, Takisha (John) Wimes-Selmon and Anasha Wimes; ten siblings: Larry(Angela) , Jerry (Yvonne) Tommy (Mary-Alice) Theresa, Belinda (Tina) Gloria, Simon Tony (Jamie) Donny (Jennifer)James (Meisha) 13 Grand Children Antonio (Cintia) Vickery, Laci Vickery, Dajenique Wimes, Creg Brown, Gregory Brown, Janiya Selmon, Jonqual Selmon, Jaleale Selmon, Jordyn Selmon, Ma'Kiya Sallee, A'Nijah Wimes, Ma'Lakhi Sallee, A'Mari Wimes, 6 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends.
