Jesse Collins Sr., age 71, passed peacefully at his home on Tuesday, June 9, 2020. He was born on August 27, 1948, in Greensboro, Alabama to the late Johnnie Collins Sr. and Pearline Collins.
Jesse graduated from Central High School in 1968, where he played basketball and ran track. He later married the love of his life, Allie B. Glaspie with this union came three children.
He was employed by Zollner Pistons for 10 years until he transitioned into entrepreneurship as the business owner of Collins Lounge. He was always open to share his wisdom and knowledge. Jesse also enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He loved to watch sports, travel, and he enjoyed reading the Bible. He loved fashion and was a “dapper man”. He will be missed most for his contagious smile, love, and kindness.
He is survived by his wife, Allie B. Collins; daughter, TaRonda Collins Goode; sons, Jesse Collins Jr; Jovon “Silk” (Barbara) Collins and Garren Miller; sisters, Lydia (Robert) Kizer, Dorothy (Jesse) Morris and Rosie Lacey; brothers, Johnnie (Simone) Collins and James Collins; daughter-in-law, Juanita Collins; son-in-law, Eric Goode; 11 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren along with dearest friends, Lee Murphy Sr., Eugene Scruggs, Sr. and Stan Mason.
Jesse was preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie Collins Sr. and Pearline Collins; sister, Shelia Collins; brothers, Jeffery and Floyd Collins; grandmother, Irene Beverly and dear friend, Willie Goodwin.
