It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of

Joann M. Turner

Joann Marie (Allison) Turner was born on August 2, 1949 in Fort Wayne, Indiana.  She was the daughter of James and Ruby (Storey) Allison. She departed this earthly life peacefully on Monday, December 9, 2019 at Canterbury Nursing and Rehabilitation Center at the age of 70.

She accepted Christ as her Savior at a young age and baptized.  In the 1980’s she united with Wings of Deliverance Tabernacle Holiness Church where she formerly served on the Usher Board.

Joann retired from the Fort Wayne State Developmental Center after many years of service.

During her free time, she enjoyed shopping, purses, writing, Pepsi and Tootsie Roll Pop suckers.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruby and James Allison and husband, Oscar W. Turner.

Surviving are her children, Linda (Timothy) Hines, Theothis (Sheryl) Allison, Joan (Reggie) Wright and     Nicole (Jerry) Mayhand; seven grandchildren, Brittany Wright, Jerry (Shadiamond) Mayhand Jr., Karrington    Allison, Dameyune Mayhand, Aanyah Wright, Jakavien Mayhand and DeVon Mayhand; two great grandchildren, Eliyanah Mayhand and Keziah Mayhand; eleven siblings, Jeanette (Lucius) Bearfield, James Allison II, Darrell     Allison, Veronica Montgomery, Vadie (Darrell) Strozier, Vernon Allison, Ruby Allison, Mary (Warren) Thomas, Roland Allison, Cheryl Underwood and Robert Allison; two aunts, Katie Daniels and Evelyn Moore along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
