Judith King Obituary

Judith Ann King was born on December 15, 1937 to Evelyn (Kendricks) King and James E. King. She departed this life in the early morning hours of Sunday, October 13, 2019.

Judy, as she preferred to be called, was a God-Fearing woman who dedicated her life to serving the Lord and raising her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Judy graduated from Central High School in Fort Wayne, Indiana in 1956.

Judy started her career as a Nurse for Parkview Hospital and also worked for Byron Health Center. Later she changed careers and had a successful run as a Sales Associate for Ervin Brothers Furniture for many years. While holding those jobs down she also brightened many people’s Sunday mornings as a DJ, hosting the show Jesus’s Joy with Judy on Cool FM Radio.

Judy spent most of her life living for and serving the Lord. She was known for hitting the streets and touching the lives of many. She spread the gospel to jails, prisons, nursing homes, hospitals, youth homes, etc. She would share the word with anyone she came in contact with. Many have built their own personal relationships with God because of the work she did for the Kingdom.

She leaves to cherish her memory a beloved brother, James L. (Joyce) King of Hebron, Maryland; her, Aunt Edith Thompson of Cambria Heights, New York; grandchildren, Ebony (Brian) Scott, Damon Burson, Kenzie (Marcus) Washington, Dajuan (Alfred) Lastrapes, Millicent (Cameron) Burson, Trinity (Kwame) Lastrapes and Lyric Martin; son-in-law, Alvin Hambrick and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughters, Desiree Martin and Dawn Hambrick, her grandson, Joshua Hambrick, whom she raised and adored until his untimely death and her great grandson, Emmanuel Washington.

We will not be sad, but rather rejoice, as she is reunited with her loved ones and enjoying her mansion in Heaven and walking the wonderful streets of gold.  We are confident she is in the presence of the Lord.

2 Corinthians 5:8 (BBE) We are without fear, desiring to be free from the body, and to be with the Lord.
