LATASHA RACHELLE GAULDEN JACKSON, 47, affectionately known as “Mug,” was a beacon of love and kindness. Latasha was born on June 10, 1978, to Janice Jackson Bush and Anthony R. Gaulden; and she departed this life on November 20, 2025.


Latasha spent her early years growing up in a warm and loving family environment. Her journey began in Wayne High School and Southside High School, where she formed lifelong connections and touched countless hearts with her warm personality and genuine spirit.


Latasha dedicated her life to serving others. She worked faithfully in various roles including Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Home Health Aide (HHA), and a Cleaning Professional. Through these roles, her compassion, steady commitment, and gentle nature were consistently noticed and appreciated by those she helped and came in contact with.


Latasha found joy in singing, dancing, playing cards, and braiding hair. These activities were not just hobbies; they were her ways of bringing people together, creating laughter, and strengthening bonds within her family and friends. Her home was always filled with the warmth of her laughter and the music of her spirit.


Latasha accepted Christ at an early age at Wings of Deliverance Tabernacle Holiness Church, Latasha later became a member of Providence Baptist Church. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, offering guidance and comfort not only to herself but also to those who looked to her for support. Her spiritual strength was a source of inspiration for many.


Latasha will be remembered for her bright smile, generous heart, and unwavering love for her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, niece, and friend. Her impact was deep, and her presence will be sorely missed.


Latasha leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Janece Jackson; sons, Calais Jackson and Byron Curry Jr.; her precious granddaughter, Ca’layah Jackson; sisters, Monique Bush, ArMisha Parker, and Ebony Parker; her brother Antonio Parker; stepmother Bonnie Gaulden; grandparents Charles Gaulden (Dorthea) and Corene Gaulden; her special nieces, Chatiah “Niecie-Poo” and Preshous Preona Capree Jackson; a special son, Deandre Jackson; her dear friend, Carl Parker Muhammad all of Fort Wayne; and a host of extended family and friends who loved her dearly.


Latasha was preceded in death by her mother, Janice Jackson Bush; father, Anthony R. Gaulden; brothers, Anthony Gaulden Jr. and Robert Bush Jr.; her husband, Byron Curry Sr.; grandmother, Vianna Sims; and her grandfather, Richard Jackson.
