Lester L. Powell, 72, was born in Arkansas on November 13,1953. Lester Powell was a praying man of God that loved his family. He served as a Sunday school teacher and deacon in the church sector. He touched the lives of many young kids and teenagers that still remember his encouragement till this day. He was a real soldier for Jesus that led people to Christ. He was also the head of a special ministry, called Prayer Mountain, that helped to change the lives of many people. On August 25th, 2022, , The Powell Park was officially named after Lester and Hester Powell for their continuous commitment to the community.
Lester was survived by his wife, Hester Powell; his daughter, Elaina (Robert Lanford III); his daughter, Tyshee (William Nicholson); his daughter, Natae Powell; his son, Eddie Hampton; his granddaughter, Kiva James, and four great grandchildren; his grandson, Johnathan Gentry Jr.; granddaughter, Jessey Gentry; grandsoon, Justice Emedobi; grandson, Karson Johnson; grandson, Karter Johnson; grandson, Kamari Johnson; granddaughter, Amelia Nicholson; granddaughter, Ka'Laniee Johnson; The Powell Family, The Scott Family, The Roberts Family, The Lawrence Family and The Easterly family.
Lester was preceded in death by his sons, Jesse W. Turner and Ivory Turner; his brother, Willie Roberts; and his mother, Louise Harvey.
